Treat Fine Lines, “Crows Feet”, Age Spots, and Acne Scars: Microdermabrasion, or skin resurfacing, is a non-invasive, non-ablative cosmetic procedure that has proven to be very effective in reducing fine lines, “crow’s feet”, age spots, and acne scars by stimulating the production of skin cells and collagen. Microdermabrasion was developed in Europe over ten years ago. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared microdermabrasion devices for public use in 1998. Since FDA approval, microdermabrasion has become an enormously popular aesthetic treatment in this country. The skin resurfacing process is quick and painless. A microdermabrasion device emits crystals onto the surface of the skin, resulting in a gentle abrasion or “polishing” process. It is a very rapid treatment (the entire treatment takes only thirty minutes to an hour) which requires no recovery time. In other words, normal activity can be resumed immediately. The rapidity of treatment and recovery time is how microdermabrasion earned its moniker, “the lunchtime peel.” Microdermabrasion has virtually no side effects and requires no anesthetic. Skin types that are too sensitive or are of the wrong pigmentation for chemical and laser procedures may be treated safely and painlessly with microdermabrasion.

Treat Frown Lines, Forehead Furrows, “Crows Feet” And Wrinkles of the Lower Face: Since its clearance by the FDA in 2002, which provided proof of its safety and effectiveness, Botox® injections have become the single most popular non-surgical, cosmetic procedure in the United States. Botox® injections are used for the treatment of frown lines, forehead furrows, “crow’s feet,” lines and wrinkles of the lower face, and even nasal muscles (to decrease nostril flaring). Facial muscles that are chronically contracted, typically due to the stressors of everyday life, create these furrows and lines. Botox® works by blocking the nerve impulses that stimulate the contraction of these furrow-causing muscles, restoring to the treated patient’s face, the relaxed and natural look we associate with health and beauty. Botox® is injected directly into the “problem” muscle(s), and results can be seen within a day or two. The effects of a Botox® treatment typically last up to four months. The needle used in these procedures is tiny, and most patients report that they experience minimal discomfort during Botox® administration. Botox® has been used to treat neurological disorders since the late 1960’s; in that time, there has not been a single report of systemic complications associated with Botox®. Botox® also seems to be extremely effective with patients who show early signs of aging, as well as, those who may not be suited to invasive forms of cosmetic surgery. Botox® is a quick and painless procedure designed to restore freshness, youth, and beauty to faces that have been damaged by the process of living. With over 2 million Botox® treatments performed in 2003 alone, one may quickly gauge the popularity and effectiveness of this cosmetic procedure.

Treat Frown Lines, Forehead Furrows, “Crows Feet” And Wrinkles of the Lower Face: Restylane® is one of the most exciting new developments in the non-invasive cosmetic surgery realm. It's an injectable filler, used like collagen injections, to fill wrinkle lines, to augment and enhance lips, to correct nasolabial folds and to shape cheeks and mouth for facial contour. Restylane, however, lasts up to 60% longer than collagen, which makes it unsurprising that Restylane has earned a much higher customer satisfaction rating than collagen in comparative surveys. Restylane® was approved for use in clinical environments by the Food and Drug Administration in December of 2003, but was, in fact, developed seven years earlier by a Swedish biotech company called Q-Med. Restylane® is a genetically engineered version of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar (one produced by the body) found largely in the skin. The primary function of hyaluronic acid is to provide volume and pliability to the skin. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to the skin. By injecting Restylane® – a genetically identical version of one of our body’s natural substances – the skin is given a natural beauty lift with the body’s own material.

Treat Sun-Damage, Pigmentation, and Fine Wrinkles: Medical Grade Facial Peels are used to treat and repair sun-damaged, unevenly pigmented, and finely wrinkled facial areas. Peels remain, year after year, one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures because they are quick, generally painless, and very effective, patients often need only a single treatment to give their skin a healthier, radiant look. With deep wrinkles, the effects have been, in some cases, readily apparent up to twenty years following the procedure! Depending on the depth of the peel, recovery time is short: with light to medium peels, a patient can resume normal activity immediately; with deep peels, only a one to two week recovery period is required before a patient may return to activities in which she was previously involved. A chemical peel treatment works by applying to the affected facial area(s) a chemical solution that removes skin layers: the number of layers is determined by the chemical’s specific properties. Chemical peels have been used in clinical settings for over thirty years, safely and with consistently great results.
